# Why Decentralization?

DoSui strives to be as fully decentralized as possible, while still maintaining functionality and a council of trusted entities from the wider community to enact in emergency situations.

There has been a large migration of projects going towards a centralized structure as of late, due to the plethora of uncertainties in the space. DoSui aims to turn back the clock to a time where you can truly verify what you are interacting with, and whether or not the system of contracts is malicious. This desire stems from the backgrounds of our team; having a heavy focus on risk management and information security. If there is anything that is unclear about the protocol's contracts, or structure, feel free to reach out to us in our discord for clarity.

{% hint style="info" %}
Initially, DoSui will have more control via whitelisting tokens/gauges, along with making decisions to quickly enact on potential issues. This will change to a fully decentralized model, the longer DoSui is active.
